Duties And Responsibilities

  • Counsels fundraising in accordance with the Annual Strategic Plan deliverables and according to all Great Hearts Academies fundraising policies and procedures, and gift acceptance policies
  • Required implementation of predetermined development strategies and successful completion of annual fundraising campaigns specific to their region and academy of service, prioritizing the Community Investment Campaign
  • Coordinates all academy-based major gift initiatives relative to Capital Campaigns, Designated Gifts, including the direct ask of major gifts and serves as the central liaison and leader to Headmasters and parent service organizations for all campus development/fundraising activities
  • Athletic sponsorships - coordinate with Athletic Director
  • Consistently attends various constituent group gatherings or meetings, such as the Academy Advisory Boards, Parent Service Organizations and others as needed to inform, partner & engage the community around prioritization of Community Investment & policy implementation
  • Serves as a communications liaison for school newsletters as needed and is responsible for managing and posting social media content related to fundraising & development or references thereto
  • Mets bi-weekly with their Headmaster to coordinate the strategic plan delivery with their community and integration to the parent community to build aligned goods and comply with board approved network-wide fundraising policies and procedures
  • Serves as key fundraising public representative for the academy, which includes the cultivating of relationships with faculty, parents, administration, donors, and volunteers in order to effectively advocate for the mission and build a strong reputation for Great Hearts
  • Is public speaker at all critical academy events to highlight the importance of and represent the Culture of Philanthropy at their Great Hearts Academy

Required/Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Required/Preferred Experience

Employment or volunteerism experience in fundraising, sales, customer service, marketing, communications, or other like relative employment.

  • Commitment to the philosophy and mission of Great Hearts
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; oriented towards detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
  • Superior organization, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Resourceful, a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members at their academy and regional office and donor constituents
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong and fearless Public Speaking and Cold Calling skills
