About the role

Instructors must be qualified to teach courses in one or more of the following areas of Communication: Media Literacy, Social/Digital Media, Public Relations, Organizational Communication, or Interpersonal Communication.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate sections of courses in Communication.
  • Contribute to a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Adhere to all PSU’s policies including the policies on Prohibited Discrimination & Harassment and the Professional Standards of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Communication (or closely related field).
  • Must reside in Oregon or SW Washington.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Communication (or closely related field).

  • Functions and communicates effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural backgrounds.
  • Sets and adheres to high standards of professionalism and integrity.

Skills

  • Ability to teach a variety of Communication courses.
  • Experience with current communication technologies and pedagogical methods.
