Academic Surgical Pathologist (NTT)
Job Description
The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Missouri School of Medicine/University of Missouri Healthcare is seeking an academically oriented, AP board-certified, surgical pathologist with subspecialty training in GI Pathology, including medical liver and pancreaticobiliary pathology.
Desired qualifications include GI fellowship training, however candidates who have done a general surgical pathology fellowship with GI focus, or practicing pathologist with substantial experience in GI pathology will be considered.
We seek an AP board-certified pathologist to assist in GI sign out, as well as participate in some general surgical pathology sign out. The surgical pathology practice accesses approximately 23,000 surgical pathology cases annually with a large case variety; subspecialty sign out is in place for neuropathology, hematopathology, gynecological pathology, cytopathology, and GI/Liver pathology. There are opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department and within the larger UHMC system, including Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and the Columbia campus.
Job Details
- Participate in diagnostic sign out of subspecialty areas
- Participate in the general surgical pathology frozen section services
- Contribute to medical student and resident education
- Develop research projects reflective of their interests
Qualifications
- MD, or MD/PhD, or DO degree and be Board certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology
- Possess strong surgical pathology diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in GI/Liver pathology
