Academic Program Manager

Job Summary

Develops and administers academic and research programs by designing curriculum, negotiating contracts and program funding, solving related problems and evaluating and redesigning programs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and establishes new programs and conferences to meet identified needs of educational and research groups.
• Collaborates with departments and faculty to develop course and research programs.
• Captures and allocates unit budget including educational and research funding.
• Directs and supervises staff by hiring, training, establishing goals and evaluating performance.
• Affirms the past performance of academic and research programs through program evaluations.
• May plan and schedule course offerings.
• May be required to fulfill University or department teaching/research assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of experience in budget, grant and program management or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
• Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
