Academic Physician - MD/DO - Biochemical Geneticist

About the role

As a Clinical Biochemical Geneticist at MO-SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in Saint Louis, MO, you will provide comprehensive biochemical genetic evaluations to children and adolescents with complex metabolic disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting detailed biochemical and genetic assessments on patients to diagnose rare metabolic disorders.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, geneticists, and other specialists to develop treatment plans.
  • Participating in research projects related to metabolic disorders.
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows about biochemical genetics.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Pediatrics or a related field.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics or a related specialty.
  • Experience in clinical biochemical genetics is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex medical concepts to patients and their families.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule
