Are you passionate about empowering first-generation and low-income students to reach their full potential? Join our team as an Academic Pathway Advisor and be a driving force in shaping brighter futures for youth in Nebraska.

As the Academic Pathway Advisor, you will:

  • Recruit, advise, and support students in the program and monitor their success.
  • Build relationships with school counselors, families and community partners within the Grand Island/Winnebago service area.
  • Host interactive workshops, provide one-on-one advising, tutoring, and facilitate enrichment programs.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the summer program.

This is a regionally based role for someone who thrives on autonomy. Working from a Grand Island office. Regular travel within the service area and periodic travel to Lincoln is required.

Educational Talent Search (ETS) engages, empowers and supports potential first generation college and under-served scholars who have the desire and potential to pursue an education beyond high school. We provide access to academic, social, and financial resources to students across five Nebraska Service Areas. This position anchors our Grand Island and Winnebago service area, serving students in partnership with local school districts and the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA).

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Two years of experience working in an academic and/or social setting with low-income students.
  • Demonstrated experience designing curriculum and/or workshops for students.
  • Ability to develop educational programming related to career exploration, financial literacy, and post-secondary preparation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet the University driver eligibility requirements (ability to drive the University 12 passenger vans).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education, psychology/counseling, or a related field.
  • Previous TRIO experience.
  • Experience in an educational setting with middle-school and/or high school students.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and maintaining student records.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families and educators—including but not limited to parents, community and school leaders, and alumni.
  • Competent with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other instructional software.

Pay

$45,000/yr. minimum
