Job Description
The University of Louisville, Department of Radiology - Vascular Interventional section - is seeking a full-time academic radiologist for its interventional radiology and image-guided medicine division. We are looking for a fellowship-trained interventional radiologist at the proposed rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Responsibilities
- Provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients' outpatient settings.
- Educates patients, families and staff.
- Performs the entire spectrum of IR procedures including angiography, angioplasty and stent placements, interventional oncology, image-guided biopsies and drainage procedures, lumbar punctures, myelograms, facet blocks, epidural steroid injections, discograms, nerve blocks.
- Trains diagnostic radiology residents.
- Participates in multidisciplinary tumor boards and trauma conferences, resident case and core didactic lecture conferences; medical school lectures.
- Contributes to research and publication activities.
Requirements
- Fellowship-trained in interventional radiology.
- MD or DO degree.
- Current medical license in good standing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Academic appointment at the University of Louisville.
- Experience with vascular and interventional procedures.
- Experience with interventional oncology procedures.
- Experience with image-guided biopsies and drainage procedures.
- Experience with fluoroscopically-guided procedures.
Skills
- Procedural expertise in vascular and interventional procedures.

Schedule
Call cases are limited to emergent cases overnight (e.g. trauma pelvic bleeds) and urgent cases over the weekend.
