Academic Instructor, Substitute

About the role

Begin a career as part of our team of instructors at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR. Work with a purpose by changing the life of a Job Corps student.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Cookordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training and/ or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Requirements

• Associate's degree and/or combination of education and experience providing knowledge or skill to instruct within designated subject matter area.
• Bachelor's degree and valid substitute teaching certificate in the state of employment and 1 year related experience preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
