About the Role

As an academic coach at GT Anywhere, you'll help students achieve what seems impossible: embrace learning, accelerate their progress, and develop into confident, independent thinkers. GT Anywhere operates as a virtual school serving gifted students prepared to advance rapidly. We integrate AI-driven curriculum with personalized coaching to provide unbounded learning speed, rigorous exploration across sciences and humanities, and connection with intellectual equals.

In this role, you'll support K–8 students determined to move faster. Content instruction isn't your responsibility—technology manages that. You're the guide who cultivates confidence, maintains high expectations, and reveals to students their true potential. Each conversation is significant, and each insight creates momentum.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct biweekly one-on-one virtual coaching conversations with each student, centered on academic planning, motivation, and growth mindset
  • Host open office hours where students can drop in for immediate support, encouragement, or problem-solving
  • Leverage AI platforms and performance dashboards to monitor student advancement, spot obstacles, and refine your coaching methods
  • Record observations, concerns, and tactical updates to keep each student progressing on an accelerated learning path
  • Partner with fellow coaches to exchange best practices, flag issues requiring escalation, and continuously refine the coaching framework
  • Generate quantifiable academic advancement and student engagement in a virtual environment through consistent, high-impact mindset coaching

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Instructing lessons, evaluating assessments, or distributing homework—technology manages the academic content
  • Presenting lectures or adhering to a prescribed syllabus
  • Supervising or controlling unmotivated students—we guide and inspire, not micromanage
  • Enduring redundant meetings or administrative red tape
  • Operating on autopilot—this team exists for professionals committed to performing at elite levels and creating real impact

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Master's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating K–8 students
  • At least 6 months working with gifted students in an educational, coaching, or mentoring setting
  • Proven high performance in any field—academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or the arts
  • Strong virtual presence and ability to connect with students quickly over Zoom/Google Meet
  • Comfortable using dashboards and tech tools to track and adjust performance
  • Ability to maintain at least 80 percent overlap with US business hours

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • PhD in any field
  • Background in performance coaching, sports psychology, or motivational work
  • Experience working with homeschool or alternative education families
