About the Role

The Academic Advisor will provide academic advising support for approximately 250-300 engineering undergraduate students. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Advising in the Engineering One-Stop and assists students in their educational and career goals, develops degree guides, helps students understand academic policies, and utilizes campus resources. The advisor will also assist with New Student Orientation. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is required, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising to 250-300 engineering undergraduate students.
  • Assist students in setting and achieving educational and career goals.
  • Develop degree guides to support student success.
  • Help students understand academic policies and utilize campus resources.
  • Assist with New Student Orientation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • At least one year of experience in academic advising, student services, higher education, student success, enrollment management, or a related field (graduate assistant experience may be substituted).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment.
  • Experience with orientation, registration, retention, or student success initiatives.
  • Experience in providing customer service in a professional setting.
  • Experience effectively presenting information to large audiences.

Additional Information

This position is renewable annually based on continued need, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Pay

$46,383.00 per year.
