Responsibilities
- Provide academic advising services to students who are undecided.
- Communicate with representatives from other colleges on topics related to transfer.
- In cooperation with Student Success Center staff, develop and coordinate career advising, orientation, and student engagement activities.
- Maintain articulation documents using computerized delivery systems.
- Implement retention procedures including a variety of intervention activities.
- Utilize multiple contact management delivery systems (e.g., virtual, text, call, chat, face to face, email, and/or other) and document student communications accordingly.
- Maintain resource materials related to advising.
- Assess students and potential students utilizing college adopted assessment tools.
- Participate actively on institutional committees.
- Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
- Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
- Attend SSC staff meetings.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Academic advising or related experience preferred.
- The ability to work with students with varied needs.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty and staff.
- Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software, is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, enter data into a computer, and operate additional office equipment.
- See and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
- Use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations.
- Understand words and respond effectively and appropriately.
- Attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently.
- Sedentary/indoor work environment.
- Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

Salary & Status
This full-time administrative staff position is 12-months annual, benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt. Salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration.
