Abstractor-Clinical Review Advanced
Responsibilities
- Identifies cardiovascular patients for inclusion in the program registry through the application of strict program inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the registries.
- Completes entry of data into the registry's database in an accurate and timely manner while ensuring the transmission of completed data.
- Promotes and applies principles of continuous improvement to improve data abstraction process and data result integrity.
- Completes assigned goals.
Specifications
Experience: Minimum Required - Minimum three (3) years? clinical experience in inpatient cardiovascular care setting. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience.
Preferred/Desired: Previous NCDR/ACC/STS/TVT/VQI data abstraction
Education: Minimum Required - Nursing Degree or Associate Degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Technology or Graduate of an accredited Perfusionist program. Preferred/Desired - BSN
Training: Minimum Required - Current state licensure. Preferred/Desired
Special Skills: Minimum Required - Computer literacy. Windows desktop applications. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret clinical data and understand cardiovascular procedures and terminology. Preferred/Desired - Data management, statistical analysis, and presentation skills.
Licensure: Minimum Required - Current Licensed Registered Nurse or ARRT (R), RCIS or RCES.
