Responsibilities
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces.
- Load and unload parts, components, and assemblies into blast cabinets or blast rooms.
- Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure proper surface preparation.
- Adjust blasting pressure, abrasive media, and equipment settings to meet job specifications.
- Remove rust, mill scale, oil, paint, and contaminants from fabricated metal products.
- Ensure surfaces meet required cleanliness standards prior to painting, powder coating, or finishing.
- Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine maintenance including media replacement and equipment cleaning.
- Properly dispose of or recycle blasting media and debris according to company and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all OSHA safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate with supervisors and quality personnel regarding part specifications and production needs.

- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or Equivalent Certificate
- 1–2 years of abrasive blasting or industrial surface preparation experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read work orders and production instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
Safety Requirements & Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; heavier items may require team lifting or equipment assistance.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach frequently.
- Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and industrial environments.
Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment
- The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Blasting hood, respirator, gloves, hearing protection, and safety boots.
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time position, 40+ hours per week
- Day Shift - Monday thru Friday
