About the role

We’re seeking expressions of interest from passionate and community-minded First Nations people to join our team in Western NSW. This is a full-time role (75 hours per fortnight).

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging young people to reach out for support and sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
  • Providing warm, culturally safe guidance to help young people (aged 12–25) find the right services and support when they need it.
  • Bringing people together through community activities that support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (this is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
  • A qualification or relevant industry experience in Mental Health, Primary Health, Community Services
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a sense of integrity and initiative.
  • Great communication and people skills and the ability to manage your time well.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • A valid Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work – this role will require regular outreach to communities within Western NSW
