Able Seaman (AB) on a Bulk Carrier vessel. The role involves performing various deck duties, standing lookout watches, and assisting in the maintenance of the vessel.

Responsibilities

• Standing lookout watches and ensuring the safety of the vessel.
• Assisting in the maintenance of deck equipment and machinery.
• Performing mooring and unmooring operations.
• Operating and maintaining deck machinery such as winches and cranes.
• Assisting in cargo operations under the supervision of officers.
• Participating in safety drills and emergency procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance duties on deck.

Requirements

• Valid Able Seaman (AB) certificate.
• STCW certification (Basic Safety Training).
• Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB) or Seaman’s Book.
• Valid medical certificate (e.g., ENG1 or equivalent).
• Previous experience as an Able Seaman or Ordinary Seaman on commercial vessels.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and follow instructions from senior officers.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
