About the role
Pine Rest is a non-profit behavioral health system committed to providing expert care for mental health and substance use disorders. Our services include psychiatric urgent care, a pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization, assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment, and specialized services like crisis response and forensic psychiatry.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Establish a positive working relationship with patients, parents, and all other family members.
- Maintain a positive relationship with assigned patients and their families.
- Function as a member of the treatment team.
- Understand the principles of behaviorally based programming and design.
- Sustain a working knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through training and educational opportunities.
- Utilize processes in place for measuring patient behaviors.
- Apply ABA processes for behavior modification.
What Will You Do?
As an ABA Technician at Pine Rest, you'll join a team dedicated to healing and empowering individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Your role involves assessing patient care needs, implementing treatment plans collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, and continuously adjusting these plans based on patient feedback. You'll also be responsible for implementing behavior change procedures under the guidance of a Certified ABA Specialist, ensuring excellent customer service, managing stressful situations, and fostering a supportive environment.
What Does This Role Require?
- Registered Behavioral Technician Certification preferred.
- Board Certified Assistant Behavioral Analyst (BCABA) certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder through education or experience.
- Understanding of current therapy principles in the field.
- On-the-job training or formal education in ABA program principles.
- Graduate education in Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
