Access Services is hiring a caring and resilient full-time ABA Behavioral Health Technician to join our Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program during school hours and after school hours in Pottsville, PA and the surrounding region. IBHS provides therapeutic services to children (up to the age of 21) who are experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral problems. The program serves clients in their homes, schools, and communities and is focused on collaborating with families to help children learn positive coping skills.

About the role

As a Behavioral Health Technician using Applied Behavior Analysis skills, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of children and families by implementing your ABA experience and providing one-on-one supports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supports as outlined in the individual's plan of care utilizing approved interventions such as safe crisis management techniques, emotional support, positive reinforcement, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate case notes for the client in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Attend weekly clinical supervision, regular case reviews, and staff meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 1+ years of work in an official role supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral or mental health challenges, or Autism (required).
  • Completion of 40 Hour Registered Behavior Technician training (required).
  • Valid driver's license with 2+ years of driving experience, reliable vehicle, and car insurance (required).
  • No driver's license suspensions in the last 48 months (required).
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years (serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours with valid registration and inspection stickers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and be available to meet program needs.
  • Ability to travel during work shift to provide services in the community, attend offsite meetings, and provide service oversight.
  • Must meet eligibility criteria outlined in the Motor Vehicle Policy and pass the agency's substance abuse screening at any time during employment.

Qualifications

  • Must pass background checks and driving history record.
  • Must provide proof of valid auto insurance and be a covered driver on the policy.

Essential Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Work in program sites and the community routinely providing direct care and/or support with individuals.
  • Stand, sit, or run to provide proper care and supervision, including assisting individuals who have fallen, regardless of weight or size.
  • Able to move and stay with an individual to keep them safe, both in home and community environments, even when they struggle to meet expectations.
  • Walk, climb stairs, and lift or move items up to 20 lbs.
  • Work in a standard office environment and utilize desktop computer equipment daily.
  • Travel to offsite locations and regional office locations if necessary.
  • Exposure to high-stress situations involving verbal aggression, physical outbursts, and emotional dysregulation.
  • Fast-paced, unpredictable environment requiring constant vigilance and adaptability.
  • Tolerance for loud environments, physical contact, and sensory stimulation.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours weekly during school hours and after school hours.

Pay

Starting rate of $18–$22/hourly, with adjustments for education, professional certification/experience, the counties in which you serve, and fluency in additional languages.
