About the Role

Mobile Service Technicians (MST) focus on the maintenance activities and work scope of customer aircraft. They identify and correct issues on malfunctioning aircraft mechanical components and systems, perform diagnostic and mechanical duties on jet aircraft, and assist with scheduling and coordinating the work of others in the crew.

MSTs assist the Lead Mechanic by coordinating and communicating aircraft issues with customers, reviewing work scopes, adding squawks as required, responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring customer satisfaction through collaboration with the Service Center Team. They also assist in overseeing the maintenance of the mobile service vehicle to ensure it is properly serviced and roadworthy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work scope is completed in a timely manner in accordance with established policy, procedure, and quality standards.
• Perform diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more aircraft models, including diagnosis of malfunctions, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of aircraft engines, mechanical systems, and components on all assigned aircraft.
• Check, correct, or replace complex aircraft assemblies, landing gear systems, air conditioning systems, pressurization systems, and optional equipment installations.
• Order and obtain parts necessary for aircraft repairs and ensure cores are returned according to established procedures.
• Apply knowledge of inspection procedures set forth in FAR Part 145 and ensure documentation procedures comply with FAR 43 and other applicable FARs.
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports, and parts identification documents.
• Ensure all maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, or specialized services adhere to Inspection System procedures outlined in the Quality Control manual.
• May observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for in-shop repairs.
• Communicate safety expectations and maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Identify and correct unsafe acts while working as part of a team to meet customer expectations.
• Assist the Lead MST in inspecting, maintaining, and servicing equipment and tooling in the mobile service vehicle to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Ensure the mobile service vehicle is in safe operating condition, including checking fluid levels, tire pressures, and inspecting wiper blades, hoses, tires, etc.
• Obtain a Textron-issued driver license and maintain a valid state-issued driver license to operate Company-owned vehicles.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• A&P license required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, and phase inspection experience as an A&P Mechanic.
• Preferred: Minimum 1-2 years’ experience on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications, plus knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and compliance with Textron Fleet Vehicle handbook and AOA access requirements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems.
• Ability to obtain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable).
