The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM)—the largest aviation maintenance training school in the U.S.—is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs), Aircraft Mechanics, and FAA-certified A&P Mechanics to join our team as instructors. This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands-on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments. Schedule Options (Full-Time) Evening Shift: Monday – Thursday: 3:00PM – 11:00PMFriday: 7:00AM – 3:00PM Day Shift: Monday – Friday: 7:00AM – 3:00PM Weekend Shift (Four 10-hour Days): Friday – Sunday: 7:00AM – 5:00 PMOne additional 10-hour day of your choice (for preparation time) – flexible Key Responsibilities Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environmentDeliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certificationDemonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation techniciansMaintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progressSupport curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadershipHelp create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environmentMaintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate degree in aviation or related field preferred Experience Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience Background as an A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, or Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Licensure FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required Skills Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation maintenance proceduresInterest in mentoring, coaching, and developing othersAbility to work in a structured, compliance-driven training environmentBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)Flexibility to support evening or weekend schedules as needed What We Offer Competitive hourly pay401(k) with company matchHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off (PTO)Paid parental leaveTuition reimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Career growth opportunities within aviation education We are committed to fostering a workplace that values integrity, growth, and student success.
