ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proper and timely completion of tasks in accordance with the Repair Stations approved ratings and the policies and procedures set forth in the manual.
  • Proper completion of all paperwork related to the assigned task.
  • Provide information to the Lead Mechanic for shift turnovers, and entering the information on the NSA-MF-22 form in the absence of the Lead Mechanic.
  • Notify Inspection when task requires, or becomes an RII action.
  • Segregate and identify upon removal all repair station/customer components.
  • Possess and maintain an adequate number and quality of tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ensure all tools are accounted for and/or returned to the tool room at shift’s end.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with job cards, engineering orders, maintenance manuals and other approved documents.
  • Understand and apply the chapters and sections of the manual that apply to his or her position.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Physical: Balance, bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, climbing stairs, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, grasping, pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, using repetitive motion, sitting for up to 2 hours, standing for up to 8 hours, walking for up to 6 hours, ability to see and follow precise instructions, document, diagram, or blueprint, distinguish color differences, read and understand information via computer screen or other electronic device, hear if equipment/tools, etc. are operating properly, hear and understand precise directions, hear and understand what others are saying in normal conversation.
  • Mental: Understanding, remembering, and applying complex oral and/or written instructions or other information, organizing thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology or data, making decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitoring impact outside immediate work unit.
  • Communication: Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language, understanding and following complex instructions and guidelines, completing complex forms, documents or reports, conducting complex oral communication with others, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Combination of inside and outside with changing climate conditions
  • Moderate to high noise level
  • Low to moderate risk for exposure to hazardous chemicals, vapors, or materials
  • Work in confined spaces and at varied heights
  • Minimum Qualifications: A&P certificate, three years documented/verifiable maintenance experience on transport category aircraft
