A Locums Pediatric Hospitalist Is Wanted in North Carolina

About the role

Weatherby Healthcare, a charter member of NALTO since 1995, provides locum tenens staffing for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners nationwide. This inpatient pediatric hospitalist position has an average daily census of 3 pediatric floor patients, with no nursery or NICU responsibilities. APP in‑house support is available 7 pm–7 am for overnight coverage. The electronic medical record system is Epic. Core duties include performing lumbar punctures and ventilator management for pending transfers.

Responsibilities

• Manage an average daily census of 3 pediatric floor patients.
• Provide inpatient pediatric hospitalist care (no nursery or NICU).
• Utilize APP in‑house support from 7 pm–7 am for overnight assistance.
• Perform lumbar punctures and ventilator management for pending transfers.
• Document and manage patient care using the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• Current PALS certification.
• Ability to perform lumbar punctures and ventilator management.

Skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system.
