Position Summary

The Class A Lineman is a safety-focused professional responsible for constructing and repairing electrical transmission systems. This role involves working on energized and de-energized powerlines and may require travel to various job sites, including out-of-state locations, based on operational and customer needs.

About the Role

You will report to the Foreman and will be expected to perform new construction, maintenance, and repairs on transmission systems. Safety is a top priority, and you will lead crew members in safety briefings and training apprentices and ground workers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repairs on energized and de-energized transmission systems
  • Lead crew members in safety briefings and training apprentices and ground workers
  • Install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors, and related hardware
  • Work at heights and in proximity to energized equipment
  • Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners, pullers, and other transmission line equipment
  • Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather
  • Available to work outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotations

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of recent transmission line experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Willing to travel long distances on short notice
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime

The job frequently requires you to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
