A Facility in California Seeks a Locums Pediatric Hospitalist

About the role

Weatherby Healthcare has been providing locum tenens staffing since 1995, offering assignments in NICU and pediatrics settings across large-scale healthcare networks, hospitals, and clinics nationwide. This position involves caring for a mixed patient population with approximately 80% NICU and 20% pediatrics, including neonates as young as 32 weeks gestation.

Responsibilities

• Manage NICU patients down to 32 weeks gestation
• Handle approximately 80% NICU, 20% pediatrics patient mix
• Perform neonatal intubation and airway management
• Place UVC/UAC lines and perform needle decompression
• Insert central lines and manage invasive ventilation
• Conduct lumbar punctures
• Interpret EKGs

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Proficiency in neonatal intubation, airway management, UVC/UAC placement, needle decompression, central line placement, invasive ventilation, lumbar puncture, and EKG interpretation

Pay

Hourly rate ranging from $125.00 to $150.00 (all‑inclusive, combining base pay with potential overtime, call, and holiday pay). Rates are estimates and vary based on critical need, experience, qualifications, and other factors.

Schedule

24‑hour beeper call required with a 20‑ to 30‑minute response time.
