A&B Shift Training Lead
About the Role
The Training Lead coordinates and delivers training on the production floor, assesses employee training needs, and adapts training methods accordingly. They foster a positive learning environment, motivate employees, and ensure standardized training based on written and electronic SOPs. The role involves regular reporting to evaluate training programs and one-on-one coaching for new hires to achieve proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Follows all applicable safety rules and encourages safe behavior in others
- Trains on all applicable safety, food safety, and quality rules
- Updates Management on current training objectives and results on a daily basis
- Coordinates and provides one-on-one skills-based training to employees
- Leads by modeling desired behaviors and coaches other employees to do the same
- Identifies and uses appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures
- Adapts to change and variety in the workplace
- Accepts constructive criticism and handles high-stress situations calmly and effectively
- Facilitates a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
- Tests/quizzes trainees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness
- Provides one-on-one coaching sessions with employees in the department
- Creates a training plan for new hires alongside the Training Manager
- Assists in improving retention through relationship-building
- Maintains skill level in all other aspects of production for the department
- Exemplary attendance record required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 6 months or more in a food production environment is a plus
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English required; bilingual is a plus
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas effectively
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision and concentrate on tasks without distraction
- Must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Physical capacity to perform all production and production-related positions to demonstrate essential job functions
Work Environment
The employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions in both inside and outside environments. The noise level in the work environment typically requires OSHA-required hearing protection.
Schedule
Hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management (AM 0600-1500 and PM 1500-0000). Training Leads work when production is in process, and weekends may be required.
