Who am I?

Em the midst of countless commitments, constant worries, daily concerns, professional demands, family issues, and social matters of all sorts, you have surely tried to put yourself on your own schedule. Have you succeeded? And have you managed to stay there? It's not an easy task. Putting oneself on one's own schedule is a masterful feat. Let's break it down. Who am I? How many times, during adolescence, did I charm adults with this question! No satisfactory answers were given. "The 'I' is a dark labyrinth with no exit, my young man. Why enter it? Take care of your life and be happy…" I heard once from a very cultured relative. I didn't give up, however, on finding the door to the labyrinth. I plunged into youth, walked around various currents of thought, and at the end, disappointed, I decided to take a pause in my search for the 'I' and archive my quest. Fortunately, this happened temporarily, as from that quest within the unknown, something valuable survived within me: the curiosity of knowing, understanding the mysteries of the human figure and the secrets of life and destiny. At the dawn of the youthful stage came university, paid work, and in its wake, the excesses of fun and leisure. My motto was study, work, monetize professional opportunities, and enjoy as much as possible. I hit the accelerator hard and finished that green phase of life, in which I ran agitatedly in circles. As an executive of a banking institution, I authorized the dismissal by just cause of a young person who worked in my sector, for theft. When asking him to know the reasons for his crime, I heard him crying: — I'm not like that! I've never stolen! This is the first time! What inside of me led me to do this? — Inside of you? I don't know, I replied. That episode deeply troubled me, leading me to verify something I had perceived: the man is an illustrious unknown to himself. He is born, grows, lives, and dies with his back turned to himself, in darkness, with the internal lights extinguished. On that day, upon returning home, I realized that the question of the dismissed young man – "What inside of me led me to do this?" — revived my old unrest: who am I? I restarted my marathon in search of answers. In vain. It was at that point in life that I contacted Logosophy. It was February 1981. Carnival eve. I was thirty-six years old. I won the book "Mechanism of Conscious Life". I didn't participate in the Momo celebrations, but my mind jumped in an uninterrupted manner, taking contact with the content of that book. There was a portion of everything I was looking for, starting with "Infructuous Search for Knowledge"; passing through "Thought as Autonomous Entity"; "Spirit"; and concluding, "Man Can Be His Own Redeemer". It sufficed for me to realize the existence in the human being of three systems: the mental system; the sensitive system; and the instinctive system. It disturbed me the concept of thoughts as "autonomous psychological entities". What are they? Despite considering myself at that time with a reasonable degree of culture, the assertion that "Logosophy does not intend to teach anything that the man already knows, but what he ignores" did not provoke any reaction then. I remember the first impressions of happiness when studying about the genesis and life of thoughts and the mechanism of intelligence with its faculties: think, observe, understand, imagine, reflect, remember etc. What amazing knowledge! Here is something of self-knowledge, enunciated by Socrates more than two millennia ago, I exclaimed again! With this knowledge, I can consciously interfere in the movements of my mind, in my thoughts, in will, and even in feelings! And more: with such knowledge, I can promote within myself an extraordinary internal organization! Now, it seems to me that I have found the true path to know who I am. Thus, the 'I' was losing the format of "a dark labyrinth impossible to find and traverse" to become a tangible, cultivable, improveable, and achievable reality. The study of Logosophical Science, with its unparalleled scientific method, has been offering me results and benefits, totally unknown to me before. Gradually, as I learned to manage time objectively and serenely, it began to spare. I have come to learn to withdraw my 'I' from the vicious circle of common concerns. I study Logosophy because, at the end of each day, when leafing through my agenda, I find my name highlighted there. Putting oneself on one's own schedule is a masterful art! It's necessary to know oneself. To know how we are and how we should function internally! I want to relate to you another valuable experience. Once, by force of profession, I participated in a symposium on ways to improve workplace relationships. In the speeches and meetings, I heard everything except the main thing: the true causes of conflicts in professional relations are negative thoughts lodged in human minds that turn into psychological deficiencies, such as: impulsiveness, impatience, intolerance, irritability, lack of will, shyness, selfishness, vanity, etc. Today, studying the movements of these deficiencies in my psychology with the objective of improving myself, I have the conviction that, if humanity acquired this knowledge and practiced it, even partially, the world would become the best place for everyone to live in peace. For some time, a student asked why I studied Logosophy. I was worried about giving him an answer comprehensible, due to his age. Quickly thinking what to say, I observed an agenda on the table. "Good", I manifested to him, "you will soon enter university and soon will be in the labor market. Since you are an excellent student, undoubtedly you will have a huge clientele, work a lot, be well compensated, and certainly won't have time for yourself. Affectionately I asked you: "did you understand? " He nodded positively with his hands and told me: "I also want to learn this art, while my agenda is still empty."
