92L Petroleum Laboratory Specialist
About the role
As a Petroleum Laboratory Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will ensure the quality, purity, and durability of all fuels used in Army operations. Your responsibilities include supervising or conducting laboratory tests on petroleum, oil, and lubricant products, obtaining or receiving samples, conducting tests for contaminants, strength, and toxic qualities, evaluating test results, making recommendations regarding product disposition, following fire prevention and safety control procedures, testing on clothing, food, paints, and plastics, and maintaining detailed laboratory records and files.
Responsibilities
- Obtain or receive petroleum product samples
- Conduct laboratory tests for contaminants, strength, and toxic qualities
- Evaluate test results against specification requirements
- Make recommendations regarding product disposition
- Follow fire prevention and safety control procedures
- Test on clothing, food, paints, and plastics
- Keep detailed laboratory records and files
Requirements
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Qualifications

Pay
Actual pay range is between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
Schedule
Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and approximately 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which includes both classroom and field components.
