91J Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer
About the Role
As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer in the Army National Guard, you will maintain a wide range of systems critical to force protection and service. Your work ensures chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery operate at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units.
- Service and repair special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
- Perform maintenance on internal combustion engine ignition, fuel, cooling, and electrical systems.
- Conduct damage assessment and repair.

Training
Instead of paying to learn these skills, you will earn a paycheck while training. After 10 weeks of Basic Training (focusing on fundamental Soldiering skills), you will attend 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), combining hands-on and classroom instruction in marine engine maintenance, internal combustion engine theory, and tool use.

Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
