91J Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer
About the role
As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer in the Army National Guard, you will maintain chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery, ensuring systems remain operational at peak performance. You will train to maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, water purification units, special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.

- Service internal combustion engine ignition, fuel, cooling, and electrical systems
- Perform damage assessment and repair
Skills
- Internal combustion engine theory
Helpful skills include an interest in shop mechanics, fixing engines, and machinery.
Training & advancement
You will earn a regular paycheck while learning valuable job skills. After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you will attend 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes hands-on and classroom training focused on marine engine maintenance and repair, internal combustion engine theory, and the use and care of hand and power tools.

Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Must meet citizenship requirements
