Job Duties

Perform maintenance on tactical utility, precise power-generation sets, internal combustion engines, and associated equipment

  • Generator and powerplant operations
  • Electrical generation and distribution
  • Diesel generator operation, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance
  • Principles of electrical and electronic circuitry

Helpful Skills

  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Interest in electricity and working with large machinery

Job Training

Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and approximately 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in maintaining electrical power systems.

Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
