91C Utilities Equipment Repairer
About the role
Join the Army National Guard as a Utilities Equipment Repairer and maintain utilities equipment and special-purpose support systems to ensure smooth operations on and off the battlefield.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, test, and repair electric motors
- Inspect and repair electrical equipment and instruments
- Replace worn gaskets and seal watertight electrical equipment
- Maintain and repair gasoline engine systems, air conditioner electrical systems, and portable heater fuel/electrical systems
- Inspect and repair air conditioner electrical and vapor systems, refrigeration unit electrical systems
- Maintain portable heater fuel/electrical systems and fire extinguisher recharging systems
- Repair fire extinguishers and valves
Qualifications
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Skills
Through training, you will develop skills applicable to civilian careers in industries using equipment powered with electrical motors, such as hospitals, manufacturing firms, and governmental agencies. Additional certification could prepare you for self-employment as an electrical tool, motor, and equipment repairer.
Training
Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in repairing electrical products. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Pay
Most non-prior service candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
