About the role
The M1 Abrams Tank is the backbone of the armored forces. This position involves supervising and performing maintenance on these tanks.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in the tank's various systems.
- Perform organizational maintenance and on-board direct support tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, and gas particulate systems.
- Perform organizational maintenance on vehicular mounted armament, gun turret drive system, and fire control system.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail.
- Interest in working with diesel and turbine engines.
Skills
- Electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
- Use of electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment.
- Use of schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
