About the role

The M1 Abrams Tank is the backbone of the armored forces. This position involves supervising and performing maintenance on these tanks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in the tank's various systems.
• Perform organizational maintenance and on-board direct support tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, and gas particulate systems.
• Perform organizational maintenance on vehicular mounted armament, gun turret drive system, and fire control system.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Interest in working with diesel and turbine engines.

Skills

• Electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
• Use of electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment.
• Use of schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
