911 Systems Program Engineer
Quantum Sky is searching for a 911 Program Manager with expertise in public safety environments to join our dynamic team supporting our Enterprise NG9-1-1 solution for customer’s Public Service Answering Points (PSAP) across CONUS, Hawaii, and Guam.
About the role
Technical knowledge of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) systems, vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement with executives and agencies, and the ability to manage project teams and budgets to deliver the system on time and within scope.
This role requires a strong, independent thinker and doer who is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and follow-through.
Minimum Secret eligibility required. Up to 30% travel CONUS and OCONUS.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, government agencies, telecommunications vendors, and technical staff.
- Coordinate activities with telecommunications vendors and manage relationships to ensure successful system integration.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support project-related tasks and drive project execution by organizing work, tracking milestones, identifying risks, following up on action items, and helping leaders prioritize critical tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Partner with leadership to translate business priorities into clear plans, actions, timelines, and follow-through, ensuring key initiatives remain organized, visible, and moving forward.
- Use business acumen to understand the organization’s priorities, connect the work to broader business outcomes, and provide thoughtful recommendations that help improve execution and decision-making.
- Independently assess issues, gather relevant information, develop options, and move forward with limited direction while knowing when to escalate for leadership input.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.
- Evaluate and assess the programs’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Monitor projects and oversee project managers to ensure goals are met.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a 9-1-1 or public safety setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office, predominantly Project, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with 911 Call Handling Platforms, 911 CAD Platforms, and 911 Telephony.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
Pay
The salary range for this position is typically between $120,000 and $170,000. Compensation is unique to each candidate and based on factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the stated range.
