About the role

As a 3rd Key, you generate sales through exceptional service while supporting daily store operations. You learn to deliver consistent, documented feedback on selling performance; uphold visual standards with accurate merchandising and signage; and help keep a clean, organized store—while maintaining a professional appearance in line with the Company Dress Code Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, assist, and convert customers; recommend products and promotions.
  • Support KPIs through add-ons, memberships, and efficient checkout.
  • Resolve customer questions and issues promptly to ensure a positive experience.
  • Protect Company assets by following Lids policies and best practices.
  • Assist with scheduling to support coverage within wage guidelines.
  • Manage inventory tasks including receiving, transfers, price changes, and product counts with accurate documentation.
  • Open and close the store per the Operations P&P Manual and maintain required records.
  • Maintain visuals including proper merchandising, accurate signage, and store cleanliness.
  • Participate in Lids training programs and track goals for sales and tasks with regular follow-up.
  • Assist in onboarding and training associates on operations and procedures.
  • Reinforce compliance with policies for the safekeeping of inventory, funds, and property.
  • Perform associate tasks as needed and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Support daily store readiness, including recovery, stocking, size runs, and backroom organization.
  • Follow opening and closing checklists and help maintain a tidy, shoppable sales floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive retail sales while minimizing loss.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clear, professional verbal communication.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn POS and retail systems.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and work with hands overhead.
  • Ability to constantly stand on shift.
  • Ability to frequently walk on shift.
  • Ability to frequently hear and communicate verbally with customers, employees, and other personnel.
  • Ability to frequently visually observe the store and read written or digital information.
  • Ability to frequently operate a computer and mobile Point-of-Sale system, as well as maneuver relative software programs.
