General Position Summary

Assistant Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of retail store performance, including achieving key results, creating a fun and inclusive environment for their team, and delivering exceptional customer service by offering expertise on Lids' products and services.

Responsibilities

• People & Training: Act as Manager on Duty for employee scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc. when Store Manager is not present; manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up; administer progressive discipline (verbal and written warnings) in the Store Manager's absence; engage team members by creating a fun and productive environment; contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment; handle scheduling and staffing, including calling in associates for unexpected peaks; participate in LIDS Training Programs; assist in recruiting and training store personnel; encourage compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Customer Experience: Lead and execute Lids selling strategy to achieve KPIs and sales targets; resolve customer feedback and address issues, including escalations and urgent requests; ensure every customer is offered participation in Lids membership programs or in-store offers; adhere to visual guidelines for merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness; maintain a professional appearance consistent with Company Dress Code Policy.
• Operations: Execute company-level directives, promotions, and initiatives; understand and adhere to Policies & Procedures Manual; maintain store technology and equipment (MPOS, Lids Custom) through daily audits and maintenance; maintain store facilities and supplies; manage cash accurately (opening/closing till, counterfeit protection, bank drops); prepare for inventory audits and support in performing them; open and close the store per Operations P&P Manual.
• Product & Inventory Management: Protect Company assets; assist in preparing work schedules within wage control guidelines; accurately manage store inventory (receiving, transferring, price changes, product counts); strategically organize the backroom; execute optimal layout and visual merchandising (window activations, hardware flips, mannequin flips, seasonal changes); maintain store look and feel through day-to-day VM actions; execute special pricing signage and promotional adjustments.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally in a clear, professional manner
• Ability to work unsupervised

Physical Demands & Requirements

• Ability to frequently hear and communicate verbally with customers, employees, and other personnel

• Ability to frequently operate a computer and mobile Point-of-Sale system, as well as maneuver relevant software programs
