7/70 Pharmacy Support Assistant; 1.0FTE; Night Shift
Full-time position (1.0 FTE) with a schedule of 7 nights on, 7 nights off: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM, including holiday rotation. Hours per week: 70, with some weekends required.
About the role
The Pharmacy Support Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the pharmacy. This role plays a critical role in ensuring safe and effective patient care by obtaining accurate and up-to-date medication histories upon hospital admission. You will interview patients and/or caregivers to gather detailed information regarding current medications, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, and supplements. Additionally, you will contact retail pharmacies, outpatient providers, and other healthcare institutions as needed to verify and clarify medication information. The information collected will be documented and communicated to the pharmacist for review, supporting providers in making informed clinical decisions.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare partners are essential for success in this role. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience
- Register as a support person with the Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire

Pay
Starting compensation: $19.72 per hour or higher.
