6th Grade ELA Teacher (Full Time)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum and the vision of high-quality instruction.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, provide appropriate feedback on work, and use information to adjust teaching strategies according to student needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Required PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA or BX) endorsement for grades 6-12 or K-8.
• Completion of an approved teacher preparation program.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Language Arts, Education, or related field.
• Passing score on the MTTC English exam.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging standards-based instruction.

Preferred

• Additional certifications.
• Prior experience as an educator.
• Experience working with middle school students.

Salary: Based on experience and qualifications within the EREA Contract
