About the role

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. As an Inbound Expert, you’ll enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. This role leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for General Merchandise (GM) areas, including Food & Beverage and Food Service. You’ll also own pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work to deliver efficiently to guests.

This role helps build skills for a career through:

  • Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency
  • Executing workload to support business priorities and sales goals

Responsibilities

  • Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by:
    • Greeting guests within 10ft (smile, eye contact, or wave) and 4ft (initiate warm interaction)
    • Helping guests find what they need or resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience
    • Ending every transaction with a sincere thank you
  • Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive, respectful attitude
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an inspiring experience
  • Execute accurate and efficient sorting operations; stock, organize, and straighten merchandise
  • Maintain product availability on the sales floor for GM categories
  • Operate powered equipment (if certified) for unloading freight or moving merchandise
  • Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with laws
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; report and correct hazards
  • Support guest services like back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU) while maintaining compliance (e.g., adult beverage laws)
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners/technology
  • Work independently and with a team
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
  • Capability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks within timeframes
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds repeatedly (bending, twisting, reaching, rotating)
  • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times)
  • Work scheduled shifts, including meal and rest breaks
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift (shift length may vary)
