About the role
As a Patient Administration Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will supervise and perform administrative duties to maintain accurate records and manage hospital operations, ensuring patients receive proper care.
Responsibilities
- Compile data and prepare required statistical reports
- Initiate correspondence pertaining to medical records, medical board proceedings, line of duty investigations, and other records and reports pertaining to patient administration
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology as it applies to anatomy and physiology
Requirements
- English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Typing and clerical skills
- Setting up and maintaining filing and publication systems
- Preparing forms and correspondence in military style
Skills
- Ability to keep organized and accurate records
- Interest in English, mathematics, business administration, and typing

Qualifications
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Pay
Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability. Candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
Schedule
Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training includes both classroom and field work.
