About the role
The Community Support Individual (CSI) provides rehabilitation, environmental support, and coordination of essential resource services for the clients in the assigned case load. This includes individual, family, and group services as outlined in the treatment plan, which is fully documented in the clients' charts.
Responsibilities
- Assists both the child and the guardian in identifying and gaining access to necessary services.
- Encourages resiliency and emotional and functional growth and development of the client through teaching, practicing, and modeling positive and healthy coping skills and crisis management techniques.
- Provides linkage to community and general services as the client prepares to be discharged back into a community setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in a mental health or human services-related field preferred, or a high school diploma with at least four years of directly related experience in mental health or human services.
- Minimum 2 years experience working with adolescent children.
- Basic computer skills.
- Satisfactorily complete the state's mandated minimum standard training requirements within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications
- Pass a Criminal Record History Clearance and a Child Abuse History Clearance which are processed by KidsPeace.
- Pass a Physical & Drug Screening.
- Ability to attend and successfully complete all KidsPeace sponsored trainings.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of mental health and human services principles and practices.
