Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.
• Provide support needs including household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Assist with medical appointments, banking, community outings, and activities.
• Administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals, and adhere to medical guidelines.
• Assist with evacuating individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
• Maintain certifications, handle job duties in compliance with Agency policies, and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
• Varied interests and personal connections in the local community.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.

Skills

• CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) certifications provided upon hire.
• Program and person-specific training provided at the individuals’ home.

Requirements

• High School Degree or G.E.D.
• Must be 21+ years old
• Valid driver’s license
• Daily use of a car on site (preferred but not required)
• Available by telephone for daily contact

Pay

• $17.50 - 19.00 per hour
• Paid training provided by Venture

Schedule

• Tuesday 11p-9a
• Friday & Saturday 3p-11p
• Part-Time: 26 hours
