About the role

Syft is seeking a skilled software engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the core platform that connects bakers with customers, ensuring reliable order fulfillment and a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with product and design teams to implement new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Optimize application performance and database queries

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django framework
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Experience with version control (Git)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Knowledge of frontend technologies (React or Vue.js) is a plus
• Experience with Celery or similar task queues

Pay

$140,000 – $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday with flexible core hours (10am–3pm ET).
