5th Grade Teacher Long Term Sub

About the Role

This long-term substitute position covers a 5th grade classroom from October 5, 2026, through December 18, 2026, while the permanent teacher is on maternity leave. The role reports to the Woodside Elementary School Principal.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate required
• Elementary (ZG) Endorsement preferred
• Must be registered with EDUStaff, LLC
• Daily substitute rates apply

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering lessons
• Collaborating with staff
• Grading student work
• Communicating with students and their parents

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position; requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
• Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; conveying detailed or important spoken instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; receiving detailed information through oral communication; making fine discriminations in sound
• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• The worker is subject to environmental conditions
• Consistent, reliable, in-person attendance required
