5th Grade Science Teacher

Location: Jacksonville, FL – Discovery Campus | Full-Time | 10-Month Contract

About the Role

Global Leadership Academy is seeking a qualified and passionate 5th Grade Science Teacher to provide standards-based instruction and support student achievement in science. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, engage students in hands-on and inquiry-based learning, and use data to drive instruction while collaborating with staff and families to promote student success.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned science instruction using Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving
• Facilitate hands-on experiments and interactive learning experiences
• Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, and school staff
• Participate in professional development and school meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education K-6
• Knowledge of science instruction and classroom management strategies
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching experience
• ESOL Endorsement

Pay

Starting at $51,000 (based on experience)

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8-hour shift
• In-person position
