Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with state standards and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Utilize various teaching methods and technological tools to enhance student learning and engagement in mathematics
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding of mathematical concepts
• Provide personalized feedback and support to students, adapting instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
• Create a positive, organized, and productive learning environment that is conducive to learning and suitable for performing mathematical tasks
• Maintain discipline and encourage good practice with respect to punctuality, behavior, standards of work, and homework
• Stay current with the latest educational research and pedagogical strategies in mathematics education
• Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and maintain subject matter expertise
• Collaborate with other teachers, school administrators, and the math department to discuss student progress and curriculum effectiveness
• Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their children's progress and ways they can support their learning at home
• Sponsor or participate in math-related extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions
• Encourage and support students in applying their mathematical knowledge in practical and real-world scenarios

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education with a concentration in Mathematics, or a related field
• Valid PA teaching certification with an endorsement in Mathematics
• Proven experience as a Math Teacher at the middle school or high school level
• Strong command of mathematical concepts and a passion for teaching mathematics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
