About the role

Under general supervision, the Industrial Cleaner is responsible for handling, disinfecting and cleaning parts. This role involves performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks, which may include operating various tools and light-to-medium equipment. While the work is generally performed independently, it must adhere to established policies, procedures, and techniques, and is subject to general or direct supervision. Industrial Cleaners are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and are expected to perform all assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Handling, disinfecting and cleaning parts according to SOPs.
• Report any faulty or damaged items to your supervisor.
• Proper disposal of waste chemicals and materials within safety regulations.
• Perform physically repetitive tasks: work in a fast-paced environment, bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, scrubbing, prolonged standing and walking.
• Wear proper protective gear, including a full hazmat suit and full-face respirator.
• Maintain floors daily to ensure cleanliness, free of dirt and debris, obstacles, and trip/slip hazards.
• Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Conduct daily “pre-operating” inspections and perform minor maintenance on the equipment intended for use.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Execute all safety protocols and accomplish all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in security of the warehouse.
• Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to read and comprehend written procedures and instructions in English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Physical ability to lift (50 lbs), bend, and reach.
• Safe practices when operating power equipment or tools.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accomplishing job tasks promptly.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months experience in the same or similar role.
• Prior respiratory training.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally: Sitting.
• Frequently: Bending, handling/fingering.
• Constantly: Standing, walking.
• Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11-20 pounds and 21-50 pounds.
• Reach above the shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is $22.00 – $22.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
