About the Role
Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming, and sanitizing of equipment, containers, and the facility. Procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book.
Responsibilities
- Clean work areas as assigned by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, including all facility areas.
- Perform cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming, and sanitizing of equipment, containers, and the facility.
- Dispose of garbage using a forklift and maintain clear drains and floor ways.
- Operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
- Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
- Measure and mix chemicals according to established procedures.
- Record work performed on the Sanitation Schedule at the end of each workday.
- Maintain the dumpster area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow safety rules and company policies.
- Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor or crew chief.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must be properly trained to handle chemicals.
- Forklift experience preferred.

Physical Demands
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.

- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.
Work Environment
- Works inside and outside, subject to seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from job tasks.
- Contact with sanitizing chemicals; gloves, goggles, and rubber boots required for some tasks.
- Head cover and beard cover required.
- Ear plugs required due to irritating machinery noise.
