About the role

An emergency teacher is a temporary, full-time educator who steps in to cover for the teacher of record during their leave of absence. This assignment is for a Kindergarten classroom and begins on 08/11/2026, continuing until the teacher of record returns.

Pay

Daily rate of pay: $319.89.

Requirements

• Eligibility for Florida educator certification.
• Florida certification in one of the following:
  • Elementary Education (Grades K-6), or
  • Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade 3).
• Successful completion of background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (details).

Certification pathways

Elementary Education (Grades K-6):

• Out-of-State: Apply for Florida reciprocity if you hold an unexpired, out-of-state professional certificate in this subject.
• Accepted majors: Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, Upper Elementary 4-6.
• Other majors: Pass the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Elementary Education K–6 (testing details). Study materials available through The Learning Liaisons and 240 Tutoring.

Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade 3):

• Out-of-State: Apply for Florida reciprocity if you hold an unexpired, out-of-state professional certificate in this subject.
