$50/hour | Remote Oil & Gas Accountant | Part-time

ProRecruiters is seeking an Oil & Gas Accountant to join a growing and dynamic team.

About the role

This is a part-time, contract position with a flexible schedule of 25 hours per week, performed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Make weekly bank deposits and pick up and process business mail locally
• Process accounts payable transactions
• Complete monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB)
• Submit weekly revenue transactions
• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and handle financial statements
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and complete month-end close activities
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation
• Respond to accounting-related inquiries from owners and vendors
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software platforms
• Strong knowledge of: Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Accounting, Journal Entries, Financial Statement Preparation, Month-End Close Processes, Revenue Processing, and Record Maintenance and Documentation
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent time management skills
• Professional communication skills for interacting with owners, vendors, and stakeholders

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant Oil & Gas accounting experience will be considered.
