4th Grade Teacher
About the role
The Kittery School District is currently seeking a highly qualified, certified General Elementary teacher to join our 4th grade team at Shapleigh School. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Maine certification in General Elementary School or be certifiable in the State of Maine, have experience teaching in a Proficiency Based Learning system, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate as part of a teaching team.
Responsibilities
- Teach 4th grade curriculum aligned with the Proficiency Based Learning system
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student performance and progress
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Valid Maine certification in General Elementary School or be certifiable in the State of Maine
- Experience teaching in a Proficiency Based Learning system
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as part of a teaching team
- Criminal History Record Check through the State of Maine Education Department
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education preferred
- At least three years of successful teaching experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Pay
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time position, 180 days per year, with a summer break.
