Starting hourly rate: $17.50 USD per hour.

About the role

Target’s General Merchandise and Food Sales team ensures a consistent guest experience by keeping products set, in‑stock, accurately priced, and properly signed. As an Inbound Expert you will support guest‑first service, inventory management, and efficient product flow on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
• Observe guests to quickly understand whether they need assistance, using body language and verbal cues.
• Engage with guests genuinely, asking questions to understand their specific needs.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve the guest experience.
• Thank guests sincerely and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute a detailed, accurate, and efficient sorting operation (including all unload schedule times).
• Stock, backstock, and zone product on the sales floor.
• Maintain sales‑floor instocks for General Merchandise categories.
• Operate power equipment only if certified; partner with a leader if certification is needed.
• Work with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Manage all defectives and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times; identify and correct hazards and follow all safety policies and best practices.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up (OPU), and Drive‑Up (DU) while complying with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple‑frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency/improvement.
• Experience executing daily/weekly workloads to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving items up to 44 lb.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties such as Drive‑Up and carry‑out.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
